Freedom on the Menu: The Greensboro Sit-Ins by Carole Boston Weatherford

freedom-on-the-menuThe book is based on the real sit-ins that took place in the 1960’s. Be sure to read the author’s note at the end of the book.

What do you think the line in the book infers that says, “Negro Students Stand Up By Sitting Down?”

Cause and Effect: Because the students sat at the counters and people refused to spend money in their stores, African Americans were allowed to eat at what was once white only lunch counters.
