Wolf’s Coming! by Joe Kulka
Point of view is demonstrated as the animals seem terrified that a wolf is coming, but the reader is surprised at the end to find they were trying to surprise wolf with a party.
The reader draws the conclusion that the wolf is scary and the animals are trying to avoid him until the surprise ending.
The text provides a good example of simple sentences and verbs and adverbs.
The illustrations infer that the wolf is hungry and scary.
